The AI disclosure

Required by EU law since 2 August 2026, sent once at the start of every conversation, in wording you write — and it cannot be switched off.

What it says

A short line telling the other person they're talking to an AI, shown once at the very start of a conversation. You write the exact wording so it sounds like you rather than a legal notice — it just has to say the true thing clearly.

What you can change, and what you can't

You can

Reword it to match your voice. Decide where it sits in your opening reply. Update it any time.

You can't

Remove it, leave it empty, or word it in a way that avoids saying what it's for. The product doesn't allow it, and doing so would put the account at real legal risk.

Why it isn't optional

Article 50 of the EU AI Act requires this disclosure, and it's been enforceable since 2 August 2026. Penalties reach €15 million or 3% of worldwide turnover — read the full explanation on what Article 50 requires.
